John Campbell (musician)
John Campbell (born January 20, 1952 in Shreveport , Louisiana , † June 13, 1993 ) was an American blues guitarist , singer and songwriter.
He learned to play the guitar at the age of three, got his first guitar at the age of eight and began his professional career at the age of 13. At 16 he left home and school. Until 1985 he played in various clubs between Texas and New Orleans and then settled in New York. He made his first studio recording in 1988 with CrossCut Records . In 1991 he got the opportunity to make recordings for Elektra Records . In 1993 he died of heart failure while sleeping in his New York apartment.
