John Cavadini

John C. Cavadini is an American Catholic theologian and historian .

Life

Cavadini studied at Wesleyan University ( BA 1975) and Marquette University ( MA 1979, MPhil 1983); at Yale University ( PhD 1988) he received his PhD.

John Cavadini is considered a renowned Augustine researcher. He teaches Patristics and the Early Middle Ages at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana and is the director of the Institute for Church Life.

Pope Benedict XVI Appointed John Cavadini to the International Theological Commission in 2009 . In the same year Pope Benedict XVI honored him. for his theological-scientific work with the papal order of Gregorius .
