John Charles Ryle (born May 10, 1816 in Macclesfield , Cheshire , England , † June 10, 1900 in Lowestoft ) was the first Anglican bishop of Liverpool .

JC Ryle is now also in Germany through his books sacred silk (Holiness), thoughts for young men (Thoughts for young men), With God on the way (Walking with God), the duties of parents and Pray? known. He was considered one of the greatest Victorian evangelicals ; Spurgeon called him "the best man in the Church of England ".
