John Fryer (music producer)
John Fryer (* 1958 in London , England) is a British sound engineer and music producer .
Fryer began his career in 1979 as an assistant at Blackwing Studios , with whom he stayed professionally for nine years. Between 1981 and 1989 he produced exclusively for bands from the music labels Mute Records and 4AD . For over 25 years he worked as a producer in the fields of pop , alternative rock and spiritual mood music . The result were dozens of albums, singles and remixes, among others with Depeche Mode , the Cocteau Twins or Nine Inch Nails and the Finnish rock band HIM . In 2003 he founded the label Something To Listen To Records .
In 2011 he recorded an album for the first time with his band DarkDriveClinic in which he himself was a musician.
