John Geddes (cyclist)

John Reuben Geddes (born August 13, 1936 in Liverpool ) is a retired British cyclist .

In 1956 John Geddes started at the Olympic Games in Melbourne and won the bronze medal in the team pursuit with the British team ( Tom Simpson , Mike Gambrill and Donald Burgess ) . In the same year he was third in the singles pursuit at the UCI-Bahn World Championships in 1956 in Ordrup . In 1959 he was third in the British road championship and finished second in the overall ranking of the Milk Race . In 1962 he won the Circuit des Ardennes .

In 1964 Geddes retired from cycling and opened a bicycle shop.
