John Gorman (Bishop)

John Robert Gorman (born December 11, 1925 in Chicago ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Chicago .

Life

The Archbishop of Chicago, Samuel Cardinal Stritch , ordained him a priest on May 1, 1956 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Catula and auxiliary bishop in Chicago on February 16, 1988 . The Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Joseph Bernardin , donated him episcopal ordination on April 11 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Alfred Leo Abramowicz and Nevin William Hayes OCarm from Chicago.

On January 24, 2003, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
