John Graham (botanist)

John Graham (* 1805 in Dumfriesshire , † May 28, 1839 in Khandalla ) was a British administrator in India and a botanist. Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " J.Graham ".

Graham went to India in 1826, where shortly after his arrival he was appointed Deputy Postmaster of Bombay. He also became supervisor of the newly established Botanical Garden of Bombay, which he expanded with his own collection. He died after a brief illness while printing a catalog of the plants in the Bombay area, completed by his friend J. Nimmo.
