John Grover

John Grover (born October 1938 in Barnet , Middlesex) is a British film editor .

Life

After graduating from the National Service, Grover signed on as a numbering boy at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer .

Grover began working in the field of film editing in 1965 as an assistant editor in the production of the literary film adaptation of Doctor Zhivago . He was not listed in the credits for this work.

This was followed in the late 1970s by engagements as assistant editor and assembly editor , during which he came into contact with the James Bond franchise. He worked in the latter position on The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker . On the latter, Grover worked closely with John Glen , the film's editor. With In fatal Mission , Grover first worked as an independent editor. Two more Bond strips followed later.

Grover's favorite film, on which he was involved as an editor, is by his own admission Journey into the Labyrinth from 1986. He and director Jim Henson worked closely on this film for 18 months.
