John Hilton Edwards

John Hilton Edwards (born March 26, 1928 in London , † October 11, 2007 in Oxford ) was a British human geneticist .

Edwards studied medicine and zoology in Cambridge and Middlesex. In 1960 he first described Edwards syndrome ( trisomy 18 ), which was then named after him and which is caused by a trisomy of human chromosome 18 or parts of it.
