John Houston (musician)
John Houston (born March 22, 1933 in Philadelphia ) is an American jazz pianist .
Live and act
Houston worked from the early 1950s at Sonny Stitt ("Cool Mambo", 1952) and Gene Ammons ; in the spring of 1957 he played with John Coltrane at a gig in Philadelphia . In the 1960s he was a member of the bands of Curtis Amy ( Tippin 'On Through , 1962) and Harold Land ( Jazz Impressions of Folk Music , 1968) in Los Angeles . In the field of jazz he was involved in 15 recording sessions between 1952 and 1969, most recently with Louis Jordan .
