John Lilly

John Lilly (* 1971 ) is an American computer scientist , manager and software developer .

Life

Lilly was a member of the Board of Directors of Mozilla Corporation , a subsidiary of the Mozilla Foundation , until March 2014 . The corporation develops open source applications under the umbrella brand Mozilla , including the web browser Mozilla Firefox and the operating system Firefox OS for smartphones .

From January 2008 to 2010 Lilly was Chief Executive Officer of Mozilla Corporation, succeeding Mitchell Baker . Before that, Lilly was Chief Operating Officer there.

Lilly currently sits on the boards of the Open Source Application Foundation and the Participatory Culture Foundation . He has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in computer science from Stanford University . Lilly also holds 5 US patents .
