John Martin Dougherty
John Martin Dougherty (born April 29, 1932 in Scranton ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Scranton .
Life
John Martin Dougherty was ordained a priest on June 15, 1957 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Sufetula and auxiliary bishop in Scranton on February 7, 1995 . He was ordained episcopal on March 7th of the same year by the Bishop of Scranton, James Clifford Timlin ; Co- consecrators were Francis Xavier DiLorenzo , Bishop of Honolulu , and Joseph Carroll McCormick , Former Bishop of Scranton.
On August 31, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
