John McHardy Sinclair

John McHardy Sinclair (* 14. June 1933 in Scotland ; † 13. March 2007 ) was a Scottish linguists ( Linguist ).

Life

When the Collins publishing house founded the Collins Birmingham University International Language Database (COBUILD) project together with the University of Birmingham in 1980 , Sinclair became their most important collaborator.

After his retirement , Sinclair went to Italy and founded the Tuscan Word Center there with his wife Elena Tognini-Bonelli .
