John Mendes

John Mendes (born November 25, 1926 in Siparia , Trinidad and Tobago , † June 24, 2005 ) was a Trinidadian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Port of Spain .

Life

John Mendes received on 1 November 1953, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

October 25, 1988 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Elephantaris in Proconsulari and auxiliary bishop in Port of Spain. Pope John Paul II donated him episcopal ordination on January 6, 1989 ; Co-consecrators were the substitute in the Vatican State Secretariat , Archbishop Edward Idris Cassidy , and the Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop Curia José Sánchez .

On January 16, 2002, John Paul II accepted John Mendes' resignation due to reasons of age.
