John Moffitt (athlete)
John Moffitt (born December 12, 1980 in Winnsboro , Louisiana ) is an American long jumper .
His breakthrough came at the 2004 National Collegiate Athletic Association championships , where he won the indoor and outdoor titles (with 8.40 m). He achieved a further increase at the Olympic Games in Athens , where he won the silver medal with 8.47 m behind his compatriot Dwight Phillips and in front of Joan Lino Martínez (ESP).
Since then he has not been able to build on this performance.
