John O'Gaunt's Castle
John O'Gaunt's Castle is a ruined castle in Harrogate in English administrative unit North Yorkshire .

The castle is considered the hunting lodge of John O'Gaunt , the Duke of Lancaster , who was the landlord of Knaresborough for 28 years until 1399 .
On the grave reinforced , 30 m × 35 m platform at the end of a cliff in Haverah Park were a Gatehouse , and a curtain wall ; the moat was spanned by a bridge. On the site there are underground foundations of a central tower, 15 meters × 15 meters in plan, as well as a wall that probably once belonged to a building line. King Edward III had construction work carried out at this point in 1334. In 1372 he lent the building together with the manor of Knaresborough to his son John O'Gaunt, from whom the castle got its name.
