John Richardson (special effects artist)
John Richardson (* 1945 in England ) is a British film knitting technician. Richardson received an Oscar and a BAFTA Award for his work on Aliens - The Return . He was also nominated for an Oscar for Cliffhanger - Only the Strong Survive .
He was born the son of special effects old man Cliff Richardson . This enabled him to gain experience in all areas of cinema effects while still at school. He already helped his father when he was working on Exodus .
Today, Richardson is considered one of the best effects supervisors in the world. Among other things, his battle scene in the film The Bridge of Arnhem is famous . However, Richardson took part in many other international productions.
One year after filming The Omen , Richardson's girlfriend at the time is said to have been beheaded in an accident . A similar scene occurred in the film.
