John Ter-Tadewosjan

John Grigorjewitsch Ter-Tadewosjan (also known as Jivan Ter-Tadevosyan Grigoryevich ; Russian: Джон Дживан Гургенович Тер-Татевосян , Armenian: Ջոն (Ջիվան) Տեր-Թադեւոսյան ) (* 14. September 1926 in Yerevan , Armenian SSR , † June 27 1988 ibid) was a Soviet- Armenian composer and violinist. John Ter-Tadewosjan completed his violin studies at the Yerevan Conservatory in 1952 with Witold Platonowitsch Portugalow and in 1960 his composition studies with Eduard Mirsojan . From 1952 to 1959 he was a teacher and director of the Konstantin Saradschew Music School in Yerevan.

Compositions

In addition to chamber music, concert music and symphonic compositions, Ter-Tadewosjan’s work primarily includes film music such as Nine Days of the Year (Soviet Union 1962).
