John Tropea

John Tropea (born January 7, 1946 in New York City ) is a fusion jazz guitarist and music producer who has also emerged as a studio musician.

Artistic career

Tropea has been playing the guitar since she was twelve. After studying at Berklee College of Music , he returned to his hometown in 1967. He toured with Eumir Deodato and can be heard on his hit album Prelude and the following recordings. In 1974 he played on Van Morrison's album Veedon Fleece. In 1975 he released his first solo album Tropea, which was followed by other albums of his own. He worked with musicians such as Warren Bernhardt , David Sanborn , Randy Brecker , Michael Brecker , Steve Gadd , Anthony Jackson , Ralph MacDonald , Don Grolnick and Richard Tee and was also part of later line-ups of the Blues Brothers . He was also with Laura Nyro , Harry Chapin (Cat's in the Cradle), Paul Simon (50 Ways to Leave Your Lover), Eric Clapton (Journey Man), Spyro Gyra (Morning Dance) and Dr. John in the studio. He has also made productions for television and advertising.
