John Wilde (diplomat)

John Wilde (born October 6, 1941 ) is a British diplomat .

Life

John Wilde was sent to the West African Gambia by the Major government in 1995 as British High Commissioner , replacing Michael J. Hardie . His tenure in Gambia ended in 1998, and Tony Millson was his successor in Gambia . Wilde was then sent to Botswana to succeed David CB Beaumont . His tenure ended in 2001, he was replaced by David B. Merry .

John Wilde is the son of John William and Clara Wilde. He married Jeanette Grace Reed in 1965 and they have a son and a daughter.
