John de Ferrers, 4th Baron Ferrers of Chartley

John de Ferrers, 4th Baron Ferrers of Chartley (after another count also 3rd Baron Ferrers of Chartley ) (* around August 10, 1331 , † April 3, 1367 near Nájera ) was an English nobleman.

John de Ferrers came from the English noble Ferrers family . He was the eldest son of Robert de Ferrers, 3rd Baron Ferrers of Chartley and his first wife Margaret. After his father's death in 1350, he inherited his possessions and the title of Baron Ferrers of Chartley , but was never called to parliament . During the Hundred Years War he fought under Edward of Woodstock , the Black Prince, in south-west France and Spain. He fell in the battle of Nájera .

Ferrers married after October 19, 1349 Elizabeth († 1375), the widow of Fulk Lestrange, 3rd Baron Strange of Blackmere and third daughter of Ralph de Stafford, 1st Earl of Stafford and his second wife Margaret de Audley. With her he had at least one son who became his heir:

After his death, his widow married Reginald de Cobham, 2nd Baron Cobham .
