John W. "Johnny" Ruger, II (born January 1, 1949 ) is a former American biathlete .
Ruger became active as a biathlete in 1980. In his first year he qualified for the Winter Olympics . In Lake Placid he competed in the individual race over 20 kilometers and was able to occupy 45th place.
Ruger, who grew up in Katonah , New York , studied at Rutgers University and graduated in economics in 1971. After his active career, he obtained a Masters Degree in Sports Management from the Claude Bernard University in Lyon , France . He later worked as a coach and administrator on the United States Olympic Committee .
