Joke FM broadcasts a full 24-hour program and its format is unique in Germany. On July 1, 2014, Joke FM began broadcasting as a web radio.
In autumn 2019, an application for a broadcasting license was submitted to the Hessian State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media (LPR) , which was granted in November 2019. In addition, upon request, the broadcasting license was granted for broadcasting via DAB + in northern Hesse on channel 6A and in the Rhine-Main area / southern Hesse / Rhine-Neckar on channel 12C. Broadcasting began on December 1, 2019.
In October 2019, an application was submitted to the Hessian State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media (LPR) for a nationwide broadcasting license , which was granted in spring 2020 by the State Media Authority's Commission for Approval and Supervision (ZAK) .

Since December 1, 2019, the program can be received in Hesse and the neighboring areas via DAB + . From October 1, 2020, nationwide reception will be possible in the metropolitan areas via the 2nd DAB + federal mux.
Joke FM can be received online as a live stream, via partner platforms and via your own apps (iOS, Android) and is preprogrammed in most internet radio stations.
