Jolan Chang

Jolan Chang ( Chinese  張 忠 蘭 , born December 9, 1917 in Hangzhou , † April 25, 2002 in Stockholm ) was a Chinese-Canadian sexologist and Taoist philosopher who wrote the luminaries classics on Eastern sexuality The Tao of love and sex and The Tao of the loving couple wrote. He was born in Hangzhou, the son of an army general. After the revolution he lived in Canada for a few years and later moved to Sweden. He died in Stockholm.

British author Lawrence Durrell wrote about Chang in his 1980 book A smile in the Mind's Eye.

The Tao of love and sex (with foreword and afterword by Joseph Needham ) interprets old Taoist sex teachings into a modern model of sexuality. Starting with the background of Tao and Yin / Yang , the book then goes into the following topics: the role of women in sex, the importance of sexuality for health, the control of ejaculation, methods of piercing, descriptions of different gender positions, advantages of female superiority , erotic kissing and the Tao, overcoming impotence, the importance of female satisfaction, longevity in relation to sexual health, benefits of age differences between sexual partners and breathing exercises. The book showed that the principles of the ancient Taoist texts apply today to stimulating and improving sexual health.
