Jon Ewo

Jon Ewo (born June 29, 1957 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian writer .

Life

Jon Ewo was born Jon Tore Halvorsen in Oslo in 1957, and took the name Jon Ewo in 2003. He trained as a librarian and from 1981 headed the library in Vestby . He then worked as an editor and publisher.

In 1986 his first volume of stories Det sies at oktober er en fin måned was published . Since 1987 he has worked as a freelance writer. His first novel Langsomt nå, for Matteus' skyld was published in 1991 and was later made into a film. Since 1993, Ewo has mainly been writing books for children and young people, which have made him known internationally and have won several prizes for children's and young people's literature.

He also wrote various non-fiction books, e.g. B. Norwegian History for Children and Internet Guides.

In 1996, Torpedo, the first volume of the crime trilogy of the same name about the Oslo money collector Alex Hoel, was published. In the novels, the main character is not a detective, but the plot is depicted from the perspective of the criminals - Ewo calls them criminal novels .
