Jon Engen-Helgheim

Jon Engen-Helgheim (born August 21, 1981 in Nedre Eiker ) is a Norwegian politician of the right-wing Fremskrittspartiet (FrP). He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2017 .

Life

Engen-Helgheim grew up in a family with 13 siblings. The family belonged to the new religious movement Smith's friends , he himself declared in 2009 that he is no longer active there. After finishing school in 1997, Engen-Helgheim worked as a landscaper before starting work as a salesman in 2003. From 2009 to 2017 he worked as operations manager. From 2009 to 2011, Engen-Helgheim headed the youth organization Fremskrittspartiets Ungdom (FpU) in what was then the province of Buskerud . Between 2011 and 2017 he was a member of the Drammen City Council . In 2017 he took over the post of Vice Mayor of the city for a short period of time.

Engen-Helgheim entered the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2017 general election . There he represents the constituency of Buskerud and he became a member of the local and administrative committee, where he serves as deputy chairman.
