Nedre Eiker
Nedre Eiker is a former municipality in the former Fylke Buskerud (now Viken ) in Norway . It bordered on Lier , Modum , Drammen , Holmestrand and Øvre Eiker . It was divided on July 1, 1885 by its neighboring commune Øvre Eiker. Up until that point there was a common community called Eiker . The municipality is also geographically divided by the Drammen river .
Nedre Eiker became part of the Drammen municipality on January 1, 2020 .
Mjøndalen , Krokstadelva , Solbergelva and Steinberg were the most important places in the municipality. Mjøndalen was the largest city with 8,000 inhabitants and the administrative center of the municipality.
