Jonas Myrin (* 1982 in Örebro , Sweden ) is a Grammy- nominated musician from Sweden, best known for the single Day of the Battle .

biography

Life

As the son of missionaries, Jonas u. a. in Russia, South Africa, Iceland and Scandinavia. He attended Risbergska Skolan High School , where he graduated a year earlier. He then moved to London at the age of 17, where he studied acting and music at the London College. At a young age, Jonas appeared in particular as the Swedish dubbing voice of various cartoon characters .

Musical career

He started his musical career as the front man of the Swedish music group A Jam , whose style was mainly influenced by the Beatles and David Bowie. At the age of 17, Jonas Myrin finally moved to London and studied music and theater studies. A short time later he had made a name for himself as a songwriter for other (international) artists and lived temporarily in London, Nashville, Los Angeles and Stockholm.

In 2012 the song Day Of The Battle was released as a pre-release single from the album Dreams Plans Everything . This helped him to become particularly well known in Germany, where the track even climbed into the upper half of the chart and stayed there for 13 weeks. The official music video was shot on June 27, 2012. It is said to be the first music video in which real fire was used.

His second single Dead Alive was released in Sweden on May 31, 2013 , from the album Dreams Plans Everything , which is due to be released worldwide on June 28, 2013. In many other countries Dead Alive was only released on June 14, 2013. It has not yet entered the chart.

Songwriting

Jonas Myrin wrote songs for and with international artists such as Natasha Bedingfield , John Hill (Shakira, Christina Aguilera, MIA), Scratch (The Roots), Bjorn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John), Kleerup (Robyn), Iain Archer (Snowpatrol, Tired Pony), Joel Pott (Athlete), Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) and Guy Sigsworth (Madonna, Bjork, Imogen Heap) and was nominated for a 2011 Grammy for one of his songs .
