Jonathan Rowe

Jonathan Abbot Rowe (born January 19, 1946 - March 20, 2011 ) was an American journalist .

Life

Rowe was mainly concerned with economics and the commons ( The Commons ). He founded the On the Commons organization and the West Marin Commons . In October 1995 he published the sensational article If the GDP is Up, Why is America Down? . In the 1970s he was a close associate of Ralph Nader . He was most recently editor of Washington Monthly and author of the Christian Science Monitor .

Rowe has contributed to Harper's , Atlantic Monthly , Reader's Digest , Washington Post , Columbia Journalism Review, American Prospect, Adbusters , Washington Monthly, and YES! Magazines.
