Jonathan Sachs

Jonathan Sachs (born June 25, 1947 in Baltimore , Maryland ) is an American programmer. He studied at MIT , where he earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1970. In the following years he continued to work at the institute and developed the STIOC programming language there in the mid-1970s , which is reminiscent of Forth in some aspects . According to his own statements, STOIC is the third Forth development that he has made.

After leaving MIT, he created the first version of the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet in 1982 and founded the Lotus Development Corporation with Mitch Kapor in the same year , which he left in 1985. Today he works for his Cambridge, Massachusetts- based company Digital Light and Color , which manufactures image processing programs.
