Jonko Grosew

Jonko Miladinov Grozew ( Bulgarian Йонко Миладинов Грозев , English transcription Yonko Miladinov Grozev ; born December 27, 1965 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian lawyer and judge at the European Court of Human Rights .

Live and act

Grozew studied law at the University of Sofia from 1987 until his diploma in 1991 . Subsequently, until 2001 he was part of a Council of Europe funding program for Bulgarian judges for the application of the European Convention on Human Rights. After completing the program, he worked there himself and for lawyers as a trainer. He has been working as a lawyer in Bulgaria since 1993. In 1995 he graduated from the Harvard Law School the title Master of Laws . He was the founder and member of numerous committees for human rights issues and committees in Bulgaria as well as various NGOs . In January 2015, he was elected as the successor to Sdrawka Kalajdschiewa as representative of Bulgaria as judge at the European Court of Human Rights . He began his term of office, which is expected to last until 2024, on April 13, 2015.
