Jontef is a German klezmer quartet that was founded as a trio at the Landestheater Tübingen (LTT) in 1988 .

history

The members of Jontef are Hans Joachim Günther ( clarinet and accordion ), Michael Chaim Langer ( singing and acting ) from Israel , Wolfram Ströle ( violin and guitar ) and, since 1999, the double bass player Peter Falk. Yiddish songs, virtuoso instrumental pieces and cabaret interludes from the world of Jewish humor was the format of the first program “As the Rabbi Sings” and remains in the other programs “Klejne Mentschelach”, “Hej Klezmorim”, “Amerike is grojs”, “ Sìs good ”,“ In the dream I feel lighter ”,“ Am I in love ”and“ In the blue moon September ”characteristic of this group.

In 1992 Jontef was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Cabaret Prize and in 1994 the Prize of the International Lake Constance Artists' Meeting .
