Morgenrot is a German rock band from Saalfeld in Thuringia, founded in 2001 .

history

Morgenrot was originally founded in April 2001. The band itself describes the period from 2001 to April 2005 as the development phase. During this time, under the influence of changing band members, two CDs were created, which are still out of print and are no longer sold. Only after the singer changed to Jörg in May 2005, one could speak of a functioning band, which then released the first jointly produced album "Omnia differunt" in July 2006.

In February 2008 the band separated from guitarist Marco and replaced him shortly after with Stephan. From the founding members of the band, Maria, Thomas and Atze were left, who, together with Jörg and Stephan, should successfully take the future fate of the band into their own hands. As a result of this collaboration, the album "Planet der Lügen" was created, which has been available in stores nationwide since March 2009 through the CARGO distributor. This also made it into the well-known EMP catalog, where it received consistently positive criticism and sales. Morgenrot took the momentum with it and in the years 2009 to 2011 followed by a number of concerts and festivals, some of them big, at which the band was able to increase its popularity enormously. Morgenrot has been under contract with Burnout Records , a label for German rock, since 2011 . In cooperation with the label, the CD sampler "Deutschrockt-Lektion1" was created in May 2011, on which Morgenrot is represented with the song "Time stands still". The album "Zwischen Freund und Feind" was also released on January 23, 2012 via the label and is also available in stores everywhere.

In autumn 2013 the EP “Eye for Eye” was released with four new titles. Before that, the singer Jörg left the band after eight years. With his successor Steffen, the album "Im Bann der Zeit" was created in 2015.

style

Morgenrot plays rock music with German lyrics of mixed hardness and aggressive to melancholic upheaval romance. The band represents and processes their thoughts, experiences and opinions with text and music. Morgenrot has a wide range of craftsmanship and uses several musical styles from the fields of rock and punk rock. Morgenrot is socially critical but not political. Morgenrot does not play any political events and also does not play with political (extremist) bands.
