Jordanka Nikolova
Jordanka Georgiewa Nikolowa , pseudonym : Katja , ( Bulgarian Йорданка Георгиева Николова , born January 8, 1911 in Stavroupoli , † June 1, 1944 in Eleschiza ) was a Bulgarian politician and activist.
Life
In 1931 Nikolova became secretary of the Workers' Youth Union in Plovdiv . From 1934 to 1936 she studied in Moscow . On her return to Bulgaria she was in prison from 1937 to 1939 in connection with her political activities. From 1942 she was secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Youth Association, a member of the Central Committee and the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party . She was interned in a concentration camp, from which she managed to escape. From 1944 she was a partisan of the 2nd Sofia People's Liberation Brigade. In a skirmish with the police, she was captured after being wounded and then shot.
