Jorge Ferreira de Vasconcellos (* around 1515 in Lisbon ; † 1585 there ) was a Portuguese playwright and novelist.

Vasconcelos was probably brought up in Coimbra and studied at Coimbra University . He was courtier to the Portuguese King John III. , which he served as secretary, and worked for the Casa da Índia from 1563 . Vasconcelos wrote several comedies in prose, including "Eufrósina" (1555), a moralizing counterpart to the Spanish novel "La Celestina". His novel “Memorial da Segunda Távola Redonda” was published in 1567, and Vasconcelo's critical portrayals of Portuguese society in his dramas made him famous. “Ulisipo” and “Aulegrafia” appeared posthumously.
