Jorge Fons
Jorge Fons Pérez (born April 23, 1939 in Tuxpan ) is a Mexican film director .
He is one of the first generation of film directors at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México . His short film Caridad (1973) is still considered one of the best films in Mexican cinema. His most important films include Rojo amanecer ( Red Morning, 1989) and Midaq Alley ( El callejón de los milagros , 1995). The latter is based on the novel The Midaq Alley by Nagib Mahfuz .
