Jorge González Camarena
Jorge González Camarena (born March 24, 1908 in Guadalajara , † May 24, 1980 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican painter and sculptor .
biography
González lived in Mexico City since 1918, where he studied art at the Academia de San Carlos from 1922 . At first he mainly dealt with painting and wall painting and joined the "Second Generation of the Mexican Painting School".
In 1970 he was awarded the national Mexican art prize. González belonged to several artistic organizations. He had been a member of the Academia de Artes since 1972 , was a member of the Seminario de Cultura Mexicana and the Mexican commission for the protection of murals of INBAL and was president of the Asociación Mexicana de Artes Plásticas (AMAPAC).
