Harold "Harry" Blanchard (born June 30, 1931 in Burlington , † January 31, 1960 in Buenos Aires ) was an American racing car driver .

Career

Harry Blanchard's only appearance at a world championship race in the automobile world championship came about by chance. In 1959 he was invited by the organizer of the Grand Prix of the USA to take part in the race in Sebring with his private Porsche RSK in order to fill the field. In the race he was then seventh, four laps behind the winner Bruce McLaren .

Blanchard competed regularly in sports car races in the USA in the 1950s and was often able to enter the list of winners as a class winner. He had a fatal accident in 1960 at the 1000 km race in Buenos Aires after a rollover.
