Jorge Mora Caldas

Jorge Mora Caldas (born April 13, 1928 in Ipiales ) is a Colombian lawyer and historian .

Life

Mora Caldas received her PhD in law and social sciences from the Universidad de Nariño in 1964 with a thesis on the Habeas Corpus ( El Habeas Corpus y su régimen jurídico ). He then made a career as a tax officer and judge in the region of his home country and held political offices as a member of the Partido Liberal Colombiano . From 1972 to 1979 he was Chief Justice of Pasto ( juez superior del distrito judicial de Pasto ) and from 1979 to 1990 he headed the criminal department ( director seccional de instrucción criminal ) of the department of Nariño .

In 1994 he published his memoirs under the title Reminiscencias (with a foreword by Vicente Pérez Silva ). His best-known writings also include the two-volume Memorias de Instrucción Criminal (1982 and 1987), Función Fiscalizadora del Estado (2007), De los libros, aporte bibliográfico, las bellas artes e investigaciones históricas (2013) and Memorias y epistolario (2014).
