Jorge Antonio Ricardo (born September 30, 1961 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a jockey in horse racing who mainly rides in Argentina . He won more than 160 Group I races.
In the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo in Buenos Aires , Argentina , he won his 9981st race on February 5, 2007 and became the most profitable jockey of all time. He took this title from Russell Baze , the most successful American jockey. On May 26, 2013, he achieved 12,000 victories, the record for the most profitable jockey. He won the most important horse race in South America, the Gran Premio Latinoamericano five times, in 1991, 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2007, making it the record holder.
