Jorma Kalevi Etelälahti (born November 17, 1951 in Toivakka ) is a former Finnish Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Etelälahti, who started for the Lahden Hiihtoseura club , made his international debut at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . In the individual he reached the 24th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 he reached 17th place in the individual. In 1979 he won his first Finnish championship. At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , he finished 13th in singles. A short time later he won his second title at the Finnish Championships.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1982 , Etelälahti won the silver medal in the Nordic Combined team competition together with Jouko Karjalainen and Rauno Miettinen .

In addition to his two titles, he also won three silver and two bronze medals in national competitions. Despite his success at the Olympic Games and World Championships, Etelälahti never got a place in the Nordic Combined World Cup .

Some time after the end of his active career, Etelälahti bought an old flax factory in Lahti , which he now operates as a museum and presents the possibilities of flax processing there.
