Rauno Martti Juhani Miettinen (born May 25, 1949 in Kuopio ) is a former Finnish Nordic combined athlete and ski jumper .

Rauno Miettinen was Junior World Champion in Nordic Combined in 1968 and 1969. These were his only titles at an international championship.

Miettinen took part in four Winter Olympics from 1972 to 1984. He was most successful in 1972 with his silver medal, he was fourth in 1976 and 1984 , while in 1980 he was disappointing 23rd. At the Olympic Games in 1972 and 1976, Miettinen also took part in ski jumping, albeit with less success.

At Nordic World Ski Championships he won three silver medals in the Nordic Combined, in the individual in 1978 and in the team in 1982 together with Jouko Karjalainen and Jorma Etelälahti and in 1984 with Karjalainen and Jukka Ylipulli . He was also fourth in 1970 and sixth in 1974 .

Miettinen achieved his greatest successes at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival in Oslo , where he won in 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1978. He was also runner-up four times (1975, 1977, 1979 and in the 1982 team). He is one of four athletes, the only non-Norwegian who has won this competition five times. In 1972 he received the Holmenkollen Medal .

The Black Forest Cup in Schonach , he won three times (1974, 1975 and 1978).
