Jorn Ebner
Jorn Ebner (born October 15, 1966 in Bremerhaven ) is a German artist. His work includes drawing, public art, internet and sound art.
Life
Growing up on the outskirts of Hamburg in the Stormarn district , Jorn Ebner first studied English literature at the University of Hamburg and from 1990–1995 and 1995–1998 fine arts in London at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design . He was an AHRC Research Fellow at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne Ebner from 2002–2005 and lives in Berlin .
Works
After completing his studies, Ebner began to deal with the Internet as an artistic place in 2000. In 2001 he received the art prize of the Medienforum München for Lee Marvin Toolbox , and in 2002 he received an AHRC Research Fellowship at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne , in connection with which he developed further Internet work. His internet work is part of the 'second wave' of net art . As a result, Ebner performed live visuals with the Bruckner Orchestra in 2006 and 2008 at the Ars Electronica Festival.
After 2007, internet-based sound works were increasingly created. Which Side was a song sculpture / download for the public space of Newcastle upon Tyne. 2008 the sound work for Browser (the tender indifference) , which received a 'Jury Recommendation' of the 12th Japan Media Arts Festival 2009. The sound art in public space project (The Beatles) in Hamburg followed in 2011 .
Since he moved from Great Britain to Germany in 2008–2009, analogue drawings have assumed a stronger role. Recognition of the city of Wittenberg as part of the Lucas Cranach Prize 2015.
His drawn books are published by the Berlin publisher The Green Box .
