The Berliner Gazette has been an internet newspaper that has been published since 1999 and is dedicated to the fields of culture , politics and the digital world . It is considered to be one of the first still existing online media in German-speaking countries and is published under Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 . One of the slogans is Das Digitale Mini- Feuilleton .

history

The Berliner Gazette was founded in 1999 as a newsletter by the cultural critic Krystian Woznicki , which opened for other authors after the first 52 issues and thus became a blog in 2002 . The publishing Berliner Gazette eV was founded in 2005. Woznicki headed the Berliner Gazette as editor-in-chief until 2009 , only to be replaced by Magdalena Taube. According to its own information, the editorial team consists of 17 members who look after over 800 writers.

The editor-in-chief of the Gazette usually publishes anthologies as part of events or funding programs .

The anthology Vernetzt deals with ego-perspective experiences from the ten-year history of the newspaper's origins. McDeutsch collects interviews on the globalization of the German language . It documents the dialogue project of the same name, for which the Berliner Gazette was funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation in 2006 . Model autodidact asks about the methods and promises of self-determined forms of education and allows various autodidactic people to have their say. Accomplices found out, funded by the cultural program of the European Union and the Federal Agency for Political Education , opportunities for emergent "collaboration cultures" between different professional and status groups.

Awards

In 2010 the Berlin Gazette received the Alternative Media Prize . In 2011 her project Lebenskünstler was nominated for the Mixed Up competition . In 2012, the Berlin Gazette was awarded in the competition 365 locations of the location initiative Germany - Land of Ideas .
