José Aguilar Pulsán
José Aguilar Pulsán (born December 19, 1958 in Guantánamo , † April 4, 2014 ibid) was a Cuban boxer .
Aguilar was Cuban champion in 1978 in light weight (-60 kg), 1979 and 1981 in light welterweight (-63.5 kg) and 1983 in light middleweight (-71 kg).
At the 1980 Olympic Games , Aguilar won after victories over Martin Brereton, Ireland (RSC 1st), Ryu Bun Hwa, North Korea (4-1), and Farouk Jawad, Iraq (RSC 3rd), and a semi-final defeat against Serik Konakbayev , Soviet Union (4: 1), the bronze medal in the light welterweight division. In 1979 he also won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in San Juan and four years later took silver in Caracas .
José Aguilar died of a stroke on April 4, 2014 .
