José Antonio Hütt , also José Antonio Hütt Chaverri , known by the nickname Toño (an abbreviation of his second, and more frequently used, first name) (* unknown; † 1991 ), was a Costa Rican football player in the position of the striker .

biography

Hütt, who was under contract with the then Costa Rican runner-up Orión FC , was one of several guest players at CS La Libertad , who traveled to Mexico in September and October 1935 and played seven friendly matches against Mexican club teams there. Hütt took part in six of these games and made such a convincing impression during his appearances that the Mexican capital club CF Asturias signed him immediately.

Hütt played for the Asturianos as early as 1936 and, among other things, played the opening game of the club's Parque Asturias stadium on March 1, 1936 . In 1937 Hütt won the Copa México with Asturias and the championship and cup in the 1938/39 season .

Immediately after the double , Hütt moved to the city rival Atlante before the start of the 1939/40 season , with whom he won another championship title in 1940/41. In 1942 he was again successful with Atlante in the cup and for the first time in the Mexican Supercup . His last recorded season for Atlante was 1943/44.
