José Edmundo Caetano (2020)

José Edmundo Caetano is an East Timorese politician and university professor. He is a member of the Kmanek Haburas Unidade Nasional Timor Oan (KHUNTO) and president of the party's legal commission.

Career

In 2006/2007 Caetano worked as a lawyer for the Diocese of Dili . He later worked as an official of COMEG (Joint Monitoring of General Election) during the 2007 presidential election . In the following parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , Caetano ran unsuccessfully for the Partido Milénio Democrático (PMD) in 14th place on the list.

Caetano was a lecturer in law at the Universidade de Díli (and IL) before it in the VIII. Constitutional government of East Timor under Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak to Vice Minister of Justice was. The swearing-in took place on June 24, 2020. The position in the cabinet was previously vacant.

Caetano is General Secretary of the Ritual Arts Group Korka , which has close ties with KHUNTO.
