José Francisco Romero (born October 21, 1960 in Monterrey , Nuevo León ) is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly played in midfield .

career

Romero began his professional career at his hometown club CF Monterrey , for which he made his debut in the Mexican Primera División on April 19, 1980 in a home game against Tecos UAG (1: 1) . In Torneo México 86 , one of two special tournaments held before the 1986 World Cup , which replaced the regular 1985/86 season, Romero won the Mexican football championship for the first time with the Rayados .

He won his second league title four years later with Puebla FC as part of the regular 1989/90 season. He also won the cup competition with the Camoteros in the same season .
