José Francisco Socarrás

José Francisco Socarrás (born November 5, 1906 or 1907 in Valledupar , † 1995 ) was a Colombian poet doctor .

Life

Socarrás received his doctorate in 1930 at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá with a thesis on the "Basic Concepts of Psychoanalysis " and stayed at the invitation of Paul Rivet from 1947 to 1950 at the Institute of the Société psychanalytique in Paris , where he studied with Henri Ey , Paul Guiraud and Serge Levobici was influenced. He then taught anthropology and psychology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and psychology at the Universidad Externado de Colombia , the Universidad Libre and the Instituto Etnológico Nacional in Bogotá.

Socarrás co-founded the Escuela Normal Superior Colombia and is considered a pioneer of Colombian psychiatry and education in many areas .
