José Frappa , actually Joseph Frappa , (born April 18, 1854 in Saint-Étienne , Loire department , † February 17, 1904 in Paris ) was a French painter.

Life

Frappa was the son of the seller Jean-Claude Frappa and his wife Rose Huguet. He received his artistic training at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, a. a. with Alexandre Cabanel .

José Frappa died in Paris ( 18th arrondissement ) on February 17, 1904, eight weeks before his 50th birthday . He found his final resting place on the Cimetière de Boulogne-Billancourt .

The journalist and writer Jean-José Frappa was his son.
